REAL BRIDE: Diana

Andrew & Diana Korte

06.13.17

We love a pretty wedding with unique & personal touches throughout, which is part of why we are so obsessed with the Korte wedding! A stunning St. Louis wedding, filled to the gills with color, personality, & must see fashion. From the gorgeous greenery, the happiness on the couples faces all day long, & don't even get me started on the ceremony space- I mean, seriously! June 13th was as wow-worthy as it sounds. Scroll on down to see how Diana styled her fashion forward Amy Kuschel gown.

How did the two of you meet?
"We met during the first few months at Truman when interviewing for the Student Activities Board. We were friends through our freshman year & started talking more sophomore year. Andrew signed up for every event that I was signed up for so that he could spend more time with me. We started talking more & eating lunch together for Wednesday grilled-cheese day which is my favorite. After a lot of time together I finally agreed to go out on a date with him & we have been together ever since! We are both from St. Louis, but moved to KC after college for work. The wedding was in St. Louis, & we are now in the processing of moving back to be closer to our family."

Did you have a specific theme in mind while you were planning?
"Our main goal was for the wedding to be fun! We LOVED our venue & wanted to let it speak for itself. We chose colors that blended in well with the existing decor – Bissinger's is a chocolate factory so it had a lot of brown & copper tones throughout. The bridesmaid dresses & table linens played off of those colors. Since those colors are so neutral we added in pops of color with the flowers & stationary."

Where did you draw your inspiration & ideas from?
"Most of my inspiration came from the internet: Pinterest, The Knot & BHLDN. I was searching Pinterest when I got the idea for the circular arch we got married under. I sent the pictures to my uncle & he created it based off of that! I also got a lot of inspiration by following my vendor team on social media & seeing other weddings that they were working on- whatever details I liked from those weddings, I saved. I also searched other sites & saved photos that I liked. From there I looked through the photo's & found themes in what I liked – for example, pink flowers & champagne dresses!"

What advice would you give to other brides in regards to dress shopping?
"Don’t over think it & follow your heart! I went to one dress shop & bought the first dress that I tried on because I fell in love with it as soon as I put it on & knew it was perfect. However, I second guessed myself a lot afterwards as I watched shows & saw pictures of other wedding dresses. I kept thinking that I picked something that wasn’t the 'right' wedding look. But when I put the dress on the day of & now when I look back at pictures of it, I know I made the perfect choice for me!"

What was one of your favorite moments from your wedding day?
"We loved so much about our day! The highlight would have to be dancing with all of our family & friends. We absolutely love dancing together at weddings, so being surrounded by everyone we love made it extra special. At the end of the night our friends surprised us & came out in dinosaur costumes to dance with us, it was really fun & a great surprise!"

Congratulations Diana & Andrew!
Wishing you only the best in this newest adventure of life.

What made you decide to tie the knot on June 17th?
"Process of elimination! We knew we wanted everything to be at The Guild, Kansas City, so we started with their availability & decided on a date from there."

Did you have a specific theme in mind while planning?
"We were going for a whimsical, casual feel, but with a little touch of polish & glam. We mixed different shades of gray with mixed metals & kept the florals neutral & organic looking."

What advice would you give to other brides in regards to dress shopping?
"Everyone says it, but when you know, you know. If you are feeling doubtful about your choice, keep trying on gowns. When you feel like you don't ever want to take the dress off, that's the one! Also, comfort is key if you want to be carefree on your wedding day."

Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Pollock!
Here's to many, many years filled with love & laughter!
